How To Master Light Filtering Blinds In Your Home

Bright, natural light is what gives your home life and energy. It makes a space feel comfortable, fresh and inviting. But of course, there are times when blocking the light is crucial (midday movie, anyone?), so how do you strike the perfect balance?

How To Master Light Filtering Blinds In Your Home

Benefits of light filtering blinds

For the best of both worlds, you need a window dressing that allows you to take advantage of the beautiful sunshine whilst being able to completely block the light (and heat) should you need to. We've rounded up five of the best options for achieving the ultimate in light filtration.

Double roller blinds/Aero roller blinds

The specially designed translucent sunscreen fabric layer provides relief from the heat whilst allowing natural light to filter into your home. A second layer completely blocks out the light and provides total privacy. Stylish, functional and super easy to use.

Vertisheers

Vertisheers offer the softness of a curtain with the functionality of a blind, for the benefits of both a sheer and blockout window dressing in one stylish product. Light filtering vanes provide maximum privacy whilst retaining the light filtering properties of the sheer fabric. Opaque vanes offer complete privacy and light blocking.

Vision blinds

AKA 'day and night blinds' or 'zebra blinds', Visions feature two layers of horizontally striped fabric (opaque and translucent) which work together to gently filter light or block it out completely. Visions can be custom made with metallic finishes, natural wood effects and classic muted tones.

Tripleshade blinds

Consisting of three layers, Tripleshade blinds do an excellent job of light filtering. A layer of horizontal venetian style blinds sits between two layers of sheer fabric. The amount of light coming in can be adjusted by moving the horizontal vane up and down. Unique angles of the slats allow for light to soften before entering the room.

Ares blinds

Ares blinds look like Roman blinds but add a certain softness thanks to the sheer fabric they are made from. The integrated dim-out and sheer panel design provides easy light and privacy control in one compact roller design system.
