Founders & heritage

The business was founded by brothers Ernie and Eric Brice, credited with introducing the vertical blind to Australia in 1972. Over five decades the family built, sold and rebuilt some of the country's best-known blind brands before establishing ABC Blinds in 2002 — giving the company rare depth of manufacturing knowledge.

1972
Vertical Blinds Introduced to Australia
It all started 54 years ago, when Ernie and Eric introduced the Concept of Vertical Blinds to Australia. Ernie, together with his brothers formed the company Kresta Blinds.
Kresta Operates on 6 States
Over the next 15 years, it became one of the country's largest retail blind operations, employing 700 people with a sales turnover in excess of 60 million.
1989
Selling Kresta, Started Vista Blinds
Having gone public on the stock exchange with Kresta and selling their shares, the family started Vista Blinds in 1989 and successfully built another retail operation, in 4 states, over the next 12 years.
Expansion of Vista Blinds
Vista Blinds opened the WA store in 1989. In the 10 years that followed, the company expanded rapidly, with retail stores opening in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
1999
Taking Kresta Blinds Back
In 1999 an opportunity arose to conduct a reverse take-over of Kresta. Vista became part of the Kresta Group. Ernie and Eric Brice again found themselves on the Board of the company they formed 30 years earlier.
2002
ABC Blinds was Born
The family bought the name ABC Blinds and put meaning to the letters (Australian Blinds Concepts).
In just 12 months the company went from strength to strength, employing over 80 staff in its retail, wholesale and manufacturing operation.
2012
ABC Blinds Expanded Production
As ABC Blinds grew in size, the company moved to a larger warehouse in Wangara. This move allowed the company to streamline production, introduce new products and remain committed to offering customers 7-day delivery.
2015
Lifetime Achievement Award
In 2015, ABC Blinds was recognised by fellow industry peers and was awarded for 40 years of excellence in the market. One of ABC's most notable achievements to date was the introduction of vertical blinds to Australia.
2017
ABC Blinds Online was launched
In 2017, ABC Express was rebranded as ABC Blinds Online, and a new and improved website was launched.
2024
Bunbury Showroom
Opening of our brand-new showroom in Bunbury! We've listened to the needs of the South West and recognised the demand for high-quality, custom window treatments.
Now
We're Bigger than Ever
Today we employ over 160 local West Australian staff. A large part of the success is due to the commitment to using the best materials, coupled with the latest products. This approach enables ABC Blinds to offer world-class blinds in WA at factory-direct prices.
