What are vision blinds?

Vision blinds are a window covering made from alternating horizontal bands of sheer and solid fabric, rolled together on a single blind. Sliding the fabric layers adjusts how much sheer or solid material lines up over the window, letting you move between soft, filtered light and full privacy on one blind.

Are vision blinds suitable for every room?

Vision blinds suit most rooms, including living areas, bedrooms and home offices, thanks to their flexible light control. For bathrooms or other high-moisture areas, we generally recommend a moisture-resistant alternative like aluminium venetian or PVC blinds instead.

Can vision blinds provide privacy at night?

Yes. Closing the solid bands fully blocks the view into a room, similar to a standard blind. For complete blackout at night, pair vision blinds with a blockout curtain or ask about our dedicated blockout blind range.

What's the difference between vision blinds and shutters?

Vision blinds use a soft, sliding fabric band system for adjustable light and privacy, while shutters use rigid louvres that tilt open and closed. Vision blinds generally suit a softer, more contemporary look and can cover very wide openings in one piece, while shutters offer a more structured, architectural finish, are highly durable, and tend to add more resale value as a semi-permanent fixture. Many Perth homes use vision blinds in living areas and bedrooms, then reserve shutters for entries or north-facing rooms that take the most sun.
