If you own a campervan, or are about to complete a van conversion, it’s worth thinking about ways to improve your road trip lifestyle. Considering it’s the place where you’ll be sleeping, eating and hanging out, you’ll want caravan fittings that can provide the comfort and privacy of a regular home. Enter: caravan curtains and blinds!
Find the right caravan blinds and caravan curtains
When it comes to finding the right camper curtains or blinds, it’s essential to think about the function you want them to perform: do you want more light? More privacy? Or, do you simply want a window treatment that’s not going to take up too much space?.
Below are some of the best caravan blinds and caravan curtains to install before your next road trip!
Curtains
First up: curtains. These window treatments are a popular choice when it comes to fitting out a caravan or campervan, as they’re super practical in a smaller space and don’t need to be held in place while you’re on the road.
Van curtains can be installed and operated on a small track or even just on a simple rod. Then, all you need is a tieback to keep them tidy and out the way when you want to enjoy the view or let some light in.
Our range of custom camper curtains are available in your choice of sheer, linen, sunscreen and blockout fabrics (to name a few), offering a light control and privacy control solution for every caravan.

Sheer Curtains
Pros: Provide a decent level of daytime privacy and let in lots of natural light.
Cons: Don’t provide privacy at night and may prevent a sleep-in.
Tip: Pair with a blockout blind (e.g. roller blind) for dual functionality.
Blockout Curtains (Privacy Curtains)
Pros: Blocks out most outside light, provides insulation, offers privacy whenever required.
Cons: Hard to enjoy privacy and light at the same time.
Venetian Blinds
Venetian blinds make popular caravan blinds due to their affordability and versatility. One installed in your caravan or campervan, these blinds allow you to control levels of light and privacy easily. All you need to do is simply tilt the slats.
To avoid cluttering the small living space in your camper or caravan, choose slimline Venetians. The slimline profile makes them a good choice for caravan narrow window reveals. These blinds are also available in a huge range of colours, so you can easily choose something to suit the van’s décor.
Note: Hold-down clips (secured at the bottom rail with small brackets) are a must. They prevent the blinds from banging and clanging against your windows while you’re on the road.
Roller Blinds
When it comes to clutter-free decorating in your caravan or camper, you can’t go past classic roller blinds. Rollers have a very stylish, minimal design which allows the fabric to be completely rolled up into a tube at the top of the window frame.
Thanks to this design, this gives you a completely unobstructed view when you want it, and privacy when you need it. Gorgeous view with no one in sight? Roll your blinds up and enjoy the scenery. Alternatively, if the campsite is busy, roll the blinds down for 100% privacy.
Choose your roller blinds in fabrics such as sunscreen, blockout or dimout, all available in a range of different colours. You can find out more about custom roller blinds here.
Note: When choosing caravan blinds, keep in mind that they need to be face fit as there is no recess to the windows.
