THE STORY BEHIND ABC

It all started 30 years ago, when Ernie and Eric introduced the Concept of Vertical Blinds to Australia.

Ernie, together with his brothers in the early 1970’s, formed the company Kresta Blinds. Over the next 15 years, it became one of the country’s largest retail blind operations, employing 700 people with a sales turnover in excess of 60 million dollars. Having gone public on the stock exchange with Kresta and selling his shares, the family started Vista Blinds in 1989 and successfully built another retail operation in 4 states over the next 12 years.

In 1999. an opportunity arose to do conduct reverse take-over of Kresta. Vista became part of the Kresta Group for the majority of the shares in the group and once again Ernie and Eric Brice found themselves on the Board of the company they formed 30 years earlier. After resigning in 2002, the family bought the name ABC blinds and put meaning to the letters i.e. Australian Blinds Concepts.

In just 12 months the company went from strength to strength, employing over 75 staff in its retail, wholesale and manufacturing operation. The company currently has 6 showrooms in Perth Metropolitan plus a warehouse / factory facility of over 2,000 sq. metres.

Obviously, a very large part of the success over the years is due to the commitment to provide the best materials and componentry, coupled with the latest products. These are sourced from within Australia and around the world. This enables ABC Blinds to offer world-class products to the public in Western Australia and overseas markets at factory direct prices.
